THE JUSTICE Ministry has requested the extradition of internationally wanted Slovak Milan R., the infamous former head of the Poprad underworld, who was arrested in Pardubice, Czech Republic on July 27.
The ministry said it expected the extradition process to take several months, as the procedure requires a prior decision by the Czech courts.
Košice regional court issued an international warrant on Milan R. last year for charges of fraud and blackmail.
Among other accusations against Milan R., former Slovak bodybuilding and arm wrestling champion who has been on the lam for five years, is his alleged connection to the unexplained disappearance of former Poprad Regional Office chief Valdimír Bachleda, and the brutal 1997 murder of a police officer.
