Rescuers from Slovakia’s Mountain Rescue Service (Horská záchranná služba) helped police track a man who had been reported missing in Liptovská Teplička on August 31. Two acquaintances who were hiking with the man in a forest lost contact with him for a long time so they called the 112 emergency number in the early evening hours and reported him missing.
The SITA newswire wrote that a rescue operation was immediately started, involving police officers and mountain rescuers from two district centres in the Low Tatras region as Liptovská Teplička lies in the eastern part of the Low Tatras to the east of Liptovský Hrádok.
Altogether nine mountain rescuers and one tracking dog began the search. After searching for about two hours, the Mountain Rescue Service reported they had found the man – unharmed and drinking in a local pub.
