According to Komora, people who travel abroad often choose ski resorts in Austria, Italy and France, or, conversely, warm seaside destinations that are currently relatively cheaper, such as Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Various exotic destinations are also popular, especially Mauritius, the Seychelles and Thailand.

"Thailand is likely to be substituted by Vietnam in the near future, however. It's begun to win points with Slovaks through its excellent services," said Komora.

The growing trend of Slovaks spending the New Year abroad via the services of travel agencies is related to increased spending power and the fact that people have begun to realise the importance of a relaxing trip, added Komora. TASR
