AS OF January the number of families eligible for contributions for catering, school assistance and scholarships because of excellent results at school will increase, the SITA news wire reported.
All families whose children attend elementary school and their family income per family member is lower than the subsistence minimum should receive contributions and scholarships, stated the minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Viera Radičová.
Each family whose income is lower than the subsistence minimum with children in school are eligible for the scholarships.
"This concerns the group of people called poor workers," stated Radičová.
"From January, the family will be eligible to contributions for catering, school assistance and scholarships for excellent results, if the family income is between Sk9,451 (€243)to Sk12,330 (€316)," said the Labour Minister.
Contributions for catering represent annually Sk5,000 per student, contributions for school assistance equal Sk1, 000 per academic year and the scholarship for excellent results can total from Sk2,000 to Sk5,000 per student depending on the school results.
