"Increased shipments of gas are the concern of SPP," Dana Kršáková, spokeswoman for SPP confirmed to the daily.

Last year, SPP transported 82.7 billion cubic metres of gas, which represents about two-thirds of Russian exports to Europe.

According to the daily, profit from transit fees for gas represents two thirds of SPP’s overall profits. Last year SPP reached a profit of Sk27.2 billion (€690 million).
