TOURIST accommodation facilities in Slovakia reported turnover of Sk3.3 billion in the first half of this year, a 13.4 percent increase from the same period last year, the Slovak Statistics Bureau reported.
Of the total sum, foreign visitors accounted for Sk2 billion, up 9.4 percent year-on-year.
The number of guests accommodated increased 6.9 percent to 1.7 million, of whom 43.6 percent were foreign tourists, or about 731,000 people.
The top five countries of origin of the foreign tourists were: the Czech Republic (23.6 percent), Poland (14.7 percent), Germany (11.7 percent), Hungary (10.6 percent), and Austria (3.7 percent).
