“The important thing is what the statute of the plenipotentiary will be, whether he’ll have concrete powers or no impact on minority culture, and so on,” said Most-Híd chairman Béla Bugár, as quoted by the Sme daily.

The post of minority plenipotentiary is still being crafted after the new cabinet opted to cancel the position of deputy prime minister for national minorities and human rights.

The Government Office gave no details about the new post.

Most-Híd has confirmed that the post might be taken by László Nagy, a former MP who has served as chairman of the parliamentary committee for minorities and human rights.
