The executive body of Most-Hid party on Monday, July 5, in Šamorín approved its nominees for ministerial posts in the forthcoming centre-right government and it also decided that its party chairman, Béla Bugár, will be a candidate for one of four vice-chair posts in parliament, the TASR newswire wrote.
In line with expectations, Most-Híd vice-chair Zsolt Simon will again become agriculture minister, a post that he held from 2002 to 2006. Another vice-chair of the party, Rudolf Chmel, will take up the post of deputy prime minister for minorities. Most-Híd has not yet decided who will become the head of the currently scrapped Environment Ministry, which the new government plans to re-establish – abandoning the outgoing government’s plans to transfer its responsibilities to the ministry of agriculture.
The executive session of Most-Hid, the smallest of the new coalition parties with 14 seats, also discussed its nominees for the posts of state secretaries at the ministries of transport and agriculture, agreeing on Ivan Švejna and Gábor Csicsai, respectively.
Martin Ružinský, along with Csicsai, will also hold another post of state secretary at the Agriculture Ministry. Ružinský, a member of the board of directors in the state oil-transport company Transpetrol, will run the environmental agenda at the Agriculture Ministry until the Environment Ministry is re-established. Bugár said he will soon brief premier-designate Iveta Radičová about the nominees.
