THE TREND weekly yesterday announced the most successful companies in Slovakia for 2003.
Car maker Volkswagen Slovakia is the country's biggest company with sales last year of Sk183.8 billion (€4.61 billion), followed by gas utility firm Slovenský Plynárenský Priemysel (SPP) with sales of Sk74.1 billion (€1.86 billion).
Volkswagen Slovakia was also ranked as the firm of the year, followed by mobile operator Orange Slovensko, wrote the daily SME.
HVB Bank Slovakia was announced as the best bank in the country followed by Tatra banka and Všeobecná úverová banka.
Kooperativa was announced as the best insurance company of 2003. Komunálna poisťovňa was second and Česká poisťovňa Slovensko ranked third.
