SLOVAK movie halls and cinemas saw a decreasing number of visitors last year while revenues grew by almost 8 percent in comparison with 2002 to Sk251 million (€6.2 million).
Compared to the previous year, theatres saw a decrease of visitors by 2 percent to 2.85 million, the Slovak daily Hospodárske noviny wrote on February 19. The majority of visits took place in Bratislava where cinemas sold 1.36 million tickets.
The average price for a movie ticket was Sk87.4 (€2.2), up from Sk79.9 (€2) in 2002.
