The man, Ľuboš Kosík, denied the pair had an intimate relationship.

According to a state prosecutor's indictment, Kosík was a member of a police SWAT team, but quit his job the day Michal Kováč Jr was abducted. According to the indictment, Kosík was part of a group of secret service men and civilians who grabbed Kováč off the street, beat him up, administered electric shocks to his penis, forced him to drink hard liquor, drove him across the border and left him unconscious outside an Austrian police station.
