Five MPs from the opposition HZDS party met party leader Vladimír Mečiar at his Elektra mansion in the west of the country to discuss a growing crisis in the HZDS and threats by some caucus members to break away.
The party has a busy scheduled of meetings this week, with a caucus meeting on January 9 and 10 and a meeting of the HZDS national council, a senior party body, on January 11.
