Speaker of Parliament Pavol Paška announced on Tuesday, April 13, that the next session of parliament would begin on April 27, rather than in May as had originally been expected.
The session agenda includes 10 points, among which will be a debate and voting on the widely discussed Patriotism Act that was drafted by the co-ruling Slovak National Party but vetoed earlier this year by President Ivan Gašparovič.
Slovakia's head of state is understood to have referred the bill back to Parliament at the request of Prime Minister Robert Fico who cited the need to move back the date on which it will come into effect from April to September in order to allow schools more time for preparation for it.
