Municipal elections to cost nearly €10 million

THE NOVEMBER 15 municipal elections will cost about €9.89 million, according to a proposal the Interior Ministry submitted to interdepartmental review, the SITA newswire reported on August 15.

THE NOVEMBER 15 municipal elections will cost about €9.89 million, according to a proposal the Interior Ministry submitted to interdepartmental review, the SITA newswire reported on August 15.

The Interior Ministry will be allowed to spend more than €8.7 million. The money will go mostly towards the salaries of members of the election committees, as well as for printing all election materials. The Statistics Office will receive about €1.16 million for processing the results, SITA wrote.

The last municipal elections, which took place in 2010, cost €9 million, SITA wrote.
