In Hlinné, the Hlinský brook broke its banks and water entered the basements of four houses – the same number as were affected on Monday. Water also covered gardens and the local road, threatening Hlinné’s Roma settlement.

The mayor of Hlinné, Milena Naštová Hladová, said the village had been on level-three flood alert since Monday, the SITA newswire reported. A barrier along the brook to prevent water from washing away the road surface, which has already been damaged in several places, is expected to be expensive. Water has flooded almost the whole village except for a single street that lies on higher ground. In Rudlov, firefighters helped pump water from a flooded area.
