MVK exit polls: Smer collects 27 percent

According to exit polls published by MVK polling agency shortly after 10:00 pm on June 17, Smer collected 27.2 percent of the votes in Slovakia’s parliamentary elections.

The Slovak Democratic and Christian Union got 19 percent followed by the Hungarian Coalition Party with 11.8 percent and the Slovak National Party with 9.6 percent, show the exit polls results prepared for private Markiza television.The Movement for a Democratic Slovakia collected 8.6 pecent and the Christian Democratic Movement got 8.6 percent.

The Slovak Communist Party, the Free Forum and New Citizens‘ Alliance collected less than 5 percent of the votes required for making it to parliament.

Political representatives remain cautious with commenting on the exit poll results as the final numbers might differ from the poll prepared by the MVK.

The official results will be published on June 18.
