PHILANTHROPIST and businessman Andrej Kiska would defeat Prime Minister Robert Fico, according to the poll carried out by the MVK agency between February 26 and March 4 on 834 respondents. Kiska would get 53 percent of the vote, compared to Fico’s 47 percent, the SITA newswire reported.
The poll also showed that Kiska would harvest 75 percent of those who in the election’s first round voted for independent candidate Milan Kňažko and Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) MP Helena Mezenská. Moreover, Kiska would also pick up 50 percent of those who supported independent MP Radoslav Procházka and Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) MP Pavol Hrušovský, and 33 percent of those who voted for Gyula Bárdos of the Party of Hungarian Community (SMK).
Fico would receive 25 percent of votes from voters of candidates who placed on eighth to 14th place in the first round, and support of about 12-13 percent of Procházka’s and Hrušovský’s voters, SITA wrote.
The rest of the votes would come from those who did not participate in the first round.
