Had presidential elections taken place in early October, former prime minister Iveta Radičová would have won by 40.4 percent, ahead of current premier Robert Fico with 30 percent, according to the results of an MVK agency poll released on Tuesday, October 23.
Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) founder Ján Čarnogurský would have finished third at 7.9 percent, followed by current KDH caucus leader Pavol Hrušovský at 7.6 percent, and Ordinary People with Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) MP Mikuláš Huba at 4.4 percent. Almost 70 percent of the respondents said that they would have taken part in the vote, the TASR newswire wrote.
In this virtual simulated election, 30.7 percent of those polled would either not go to polls or would not be able to choose from among any of the candidates, the SITA newswire wrote.
