THREE people face criminal prosecution for fraud in the case that contributed to the dismissal of former Economy Minister Pavol Rusko, the Pravda daily reported.
The Office for the Fight Against Corruption charged three former representatives of the National Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Sized Businesses (NADSME). If convicted, they face five to 12 years in jail.
NADSME's former general director, Ľudovít Balco, the deputy chairman of the supervisory board, Tomáš H., and secretary Tomáš Š., face prosecution for approving an irregular transfer of Sk1.5 billion (€39 million) from the NADSME to a private firm, Cassovia BIC.
The money was transferred to Cassovia on August 22 without the approval of the NADSME board.
