NBS limits coin exchange to 1,000 at a time

Slovakia’s central bank, the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS), has announced it will exchange Slovak or euro coins on the spot only if their total number doesn't exceed 1,000.

Slovakia’s central bank, the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS), has announced it will exchange Slovak or euro coins on the spot only if their total number doesn't exceed 1,000.

NBS spokesperson Jana Kováčová told the TASR newswire on January 21: "If a higher number of coins are brought in for exchange, the NBS will take them and pay their value to the citizen ... within 30 days."

NBS will take the coins in conjunction with a signed statement in which depositors agree that the amount ascertained during the counting process in their absence is correct. TASR
