Slovakia’s National Highway Company (NDS) announced a public tender to select a contractor for the construction of D1 highway sections from Jánovce to Jablonov with a total length of 18.5 kilometres, the SITA newswire reported.
Opening of envelopes with tender bids is scheduled for February 8 of next year. NDS spokesman Marcel Jánošík said that the company assumes it could sign contracts with winners of the public procurement for the sections in May 2011. The NDS projects that construction of the first section will take 30 months from when the contract is signed, while the second section will need 40 months.
