Almost half of the statutory representatives of companies registered in the business register still have not arranged or activated an electronic ID card with a chip. The Interior Ministry call on them to request their eID card soon as waiting times are getting longer due to people applying for passports.
On July 1, the state will start communicating with companies electronically via state email boxes at the web portal of the Central Public Administration, www.slovensko.sk. Without activated ID cards with a chip, the firm representatives will not be able to get into the mailbox for companies and therefore electronic communication would be not possible, warns the Interior Ministry.
“If the statutory representative does not have an ID card with a chip, s/he will not be able to get access to the decisions that authorities will electronically deliver after July 1,” informs the press department of the Interior Ministry, adding that the department regularly notifies statutory representatives about this by letters or text messages.
While they still have 11 weeks to get their eID cards, the Interior Ministry warns that the time for submitting an application for an eID card is increasing as people are also applying for passports due to the upcoming tourist season. The average waiting time for submitting an application increased by seven minutes to 29 minutes compared with the previous week.
Based on the latest data, 111,765 statutory representatives of companies (52 percent) already hold an activated eID card and thus are prepared for the electronic communications. 32,297 statutory representatives have an eID card, but they have not activated it yet. As many as 70,315 statutory representatives do not hold their eID cards at all, meaning as much as 48 percent or 102,000 statutory representatives have not arranged or activated their electronic ID card with a chip.
