Businessmen will have to replace almost half of the 170,000 cash registers in shops, restaurants and market places around Slovakia because of the introduction of the euro, the Pravda daily reports on April 16 in its lead story.
One in two cash registers is obsolete and unsuitable for dual billing, which will be obligatory from August. New euro-cash registers cost about Sk15,000. Cash register producers admit their prices are likely to increase due to growing demand for them and the need for compulsory certification. SITA
