Two days after taking his post, new Economy Minister Pavol Rusko fired a top adviser for privatisation projects, Henrich Herceg, who was in charge of administrative issues linked to the privatisation of gas distributor Slovenský plynárenský priemysel and major electricity producer Slovenské elektrárne.

Rusko claims to have a replacement already, news wire TASR reported.

Herceg, whom Rusko's predecessor Robert Nemcsics appointed to the post, had previously worked for the audit firm Deloitte&Touche as the government's adviser on the privatisation of the Transpetrol oil pipeline operator.

Rusko confirmed that he plans further personnel changes on the supervisory boards of ministry-owned companies, including the electricity distribution network SEPS.

Nemcsics, who was recalled at the request of the New Citizen's Alliance (ANO) after publicly criticising party leader Rusko's ruling tactics, left the party to become an independent MP.

ANO is entitled to nominate the economy minister under the coalition agreement of the four ruling parties.
