Peter Barecz replaces Slavomír Danko, 26, who left The Slovak Spectator in April to pursue a career in the third-sector. Slavo joined the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA) as Director of Public Relations. Slavo served over a year at the paper, covering politics, business and feature news.

Ślavo, who is married with a three-year-old son, is doing a PhD degree on African American poetry and literature. He was born in the western Slovak town of Handlova, but now lives in Bratislava.
