From December 15 on, the Latvian national air carrier Air Baltic will fly once a week between the two cities. Both the Slovak Transport Ministry and the head of the Poprad-Tatry airport, Ivana Herkeľová, praised the importance of this connection not only form the Latvian point of view, but also as for the connection to Russia and Scandinavia – as Riga has regular flights to 56 destinations, especially northern and eastern Europe. To Poprad, three planes will fly each Saturday.
