Poprad-Tatry airport is to introduce routes to Warsaw and Brussels beginning October 25 and flights to Dublin, London and Manchester on December 1, TASR was told by airport director Ivana Herkelová on October 11. The airport currently offers connections to Bratislava, Bologna (Italy) and Basel (Switzerland).
The airport is in the midst of preparations for the upcoming winter season. Herkelová announced that talks with potential Ukrainian partners are currently taking place with the aim of launching regular flights for tourists from Kiev as of December 1.
Following a 90-percent slump in interest in Poprad airport on the part of Russian tourists in the last winter season, the airport management is making efforts to lure back Russian clients this year. According to Poprad-Tatry Airport CEO Peter Súča, the exact number of connections with Russia will be announced in early winter. TASR
