The volume of new industrial orders in Slovakia rose in October by nearly one quarter. According to data from the Slovak Statistics Office, new industrial orders in October rose by 23.7 percent year-on-year (y/y) to €3.244 billion.
In September 2010, the indicator increased 13.3 percent y/y. Stripped of seasonal influences, the volume of new industrial orders in October grew 2.1 percent month-on-month. In the January-October period, new industrial orders grew 26.3 percent y/y to €27.893 billion, the SITA newswire wrote. In 2009, which was strongly marked by the negative effects of the global economic crisis, new industrial orders in Slovak industry fell by nearly 20 percent y/y to €27.156 billion.
