POLICE, intelligence service members, prison guards, and officers serving in the train police will receive higher wages next year according to a new law on state service in these institutions, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.
The new law, approved recently by the Slovak parliament, will also enable the interior minister to replace leading police officers without having to quote a reason, and will also prolong the trial period for aspiring officers from one year to 18 months.
