New members of Slovak Land Fund council officially appointed

Eleven members of the Slovak Land Fund (SPF) council, whose nominations were approved by Parliament on August 2, received their appointment documents on Thursday, August 16, in the presence of agriculture and environment parliamentary committee chairman Mikuláš Huba, of Ordinary People and Independent Personalities.

While six members of the council - Marek Gocník, Roman Jilly, Ivan Mišík, Radomil Květon, Jaroslav Lovašš and Vladimír Bajan - were nominated by the government, the rest of the members - Jarmila Tkáčová (Slovak Democratic and Christian Union), Boris Brunner (Most-Híd nominee), Miroslav Masarik, Milan Cíbik and Jozef Gajdoš (all Smer nominees) were recommended by the agricultural committee. The 11-member council supervises the activities and operation of the SPF, the TASR newswire wrote. Its members are elected and dismissed by Parliament, and the term of office is set at three years.
