The second cabinet session of the new Radičová government due to meet today (July 14) will deal with the preparations for the September referendum, which will cost the state treasury €7.25 million, and flood relief for regions of Slovakia hit by devastating floods in May and June, the SITA newswire wrote.
The cabinet will discuss organisational and technical preparations for the 2010 referendum. These include, in addition to a series of tasks and deadlines for its implementation, the Finance Ministry’s role in allocating the funds necessary to hold the referendum, since nothing has been allocated for this purpose in the state budget. According to law, referendum expenses should be reimbursed from the state budget.
