THE SLOVAK government has agreed to borrow Sk900 million (€23.19 million) for the completion of the new Slovak National Theatre (SND) building, which should be completed by the next parliamentary elections in 2006, the Pravda daily wrote.
The Culture Ministry plans to repay the money to the state with the money from the sale of the current SND headquarters and theatre buildings and the land surrounding the new SND complex.
Work to complete the new SND complex should start later this month.
According to the approved plan, Sk500 million should be released this year and the remaining Sk400 million (€12.88 million) will be provided next year.

All the space in the new SND building not used by the theatre, will be rented out other entities by Správcovská organizácia.
