THE CULTURE Ministry plans to officially open the new Slovak National Theatre (SND) building on January 1, 2007, but needs additional Sk229 millions to complete the project.
The ministry has asked the government to allocate the additional funds; the cabinet is to discuss the request at an upcoming session, the SME daily wrote.
The construction of the new SND building started during Communism in 1985, and costs have already run into the billions of crowns.
