THE NEW US Ambassador to Slovakia, Rodolphe M Vallee, should take up his post in Slovakia at the beginning of August, the daily SME wrote.
"The exact date is not known yet but it should be in August," Barbara Zigli, press attaché at the embassy said. Foreign Ministry spokesman Juraj Tomaga confirmed that Vallee has already received the support of the Slovak side.
George Bush nominated the 44-year-old Vermont businessman and the Senate approved the appointment. The US Embassy is currently led by charge d'affaire, Scott Thayer.
