NGOs in Slovakia will not provide observers for the June 17 general elections as they have done in the past.
According to the Pravda daily, foreign donors have withdrawn financial support for observer missions, as they believe that Slovakia is now a fully democratic country.
In the previous general elections in 2002, donors from the US and the EU15 supported Slovak NGOs with Sk100 million (€2.7 million) to finance 83 election-related projects.
