Nine people died on Czech roads in two separate car crashes December 13.
A bus travelling from Prague to Košice was involved in a crash with a lorry. Six people died on the spot, including a pregnant young woman. The accident occurred after midnight.
At around 8 am, another three people died in a car accident near the town of Nový Jičín, wrote the daily SME.
The reasons for the crash involving the lorry and bus are still unclear. Apparently the bus was pulling out from a service area near Brno when the collision happened. Whether the bus was already in the slow lane or was still pulling out from the service area is not yet known. Why the lorry crashed into the back of the bus also remains a mystery.
Five other people were injured though four of them were released from the hospital the same day. The Slovak General Consul in Brno said the bus passengers were from Central Slovakia.
