The Slovak Telecom fixed line monopoly has said that some of its customers will not be free to choose another operator, as required by law, when market liberalisation begins on January 1, 2003.
The company’s advertising campaigns ‘Greater Choice’ and ‘This Call Must be for You’ declare that customers of its ST Mini, ST Maxi and ST ISDN services will have limited choice in choosing an operator.
“It’s an obvious abuse of monopoly position. We’re thinking of filing a complaint,” said Vladimír Ondrovič, head of the Association of Telecom Operators.
