THE ANNUAL inflation did not change in October compared to the previous month. The core inflation rose by 0.2 percent month-on-month, while the net inflation increased by 0.6 percent m/m, the Statistics Office (ŠÚ) informed on November 12.
The core inflation in October compared to September affected the total inflation by 0.10 percentage points, while regulated prices and indirect taxes did not have an impact on total inflation. Food prices influenced the core inflation by -0.07 percentage points and net inflation impacted the core inflation by 0.17 percentage points, according to the ŠÚ.
Regarding the consumer prices, they increased by 0.1 percent m/m in total. They rose in the divisions of alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.5 percent m/m; clothing and footwear by 1.3 percent m/m; postal and telecommunication services, miscellaneous goods and services by 0.3 percent m/m each; furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house, recreation and culture, and education by 0.2 percent m/m each; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, health, and hotels, cafés and restaurants by 0.1 percent m/m each. Decreasing prices were recorded in transport (by 0.5 percent m/m), food and non-alcoholic beverages (by 0.4 percent m/m).
In annual terms, consumer prices did not change in total. They rose in education by 2.8 percent; miscellaneous goods and services by 1.9 percent; alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.8 percent; clothing and footwear by 1.4 percent; hotels, cafés and restaurants by 1.1 percent; recreation and culture by 0.8 percent; health by 0.5 percent; and furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.3 percent. Prices fell for food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.6 percent; transport by 1.3 percent; postal and telecommunication services by 0.4 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.3 percent, according to the ŠÚ.
