Brothers Pavol and Peter Hochschorner, gold winners in C2 (canoe double) at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, and kayak single athlete Elena Kaliská qualified to compete in the semi-finals on August 14.
“We considered the participation in semi-finals the basic goal; and we reached it, so we can be satisfied. We are happy that both our boats managed to avoid troubles that caused several good slalom racers to be eliminated and that they showed superb form and preparation,” said Róbert Orokocký, head of the Slovak water slalom delegation.
