On collision course with labour

Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda boycotted a scheduled meeting with labour and business representatives after unions called a protest for today over the government’s austerity measures.

The meeting, part of a consultation series called the ‘tripartite’, was intended to help the cabinet, business and labour groups reconcile their differences over the direction the government is taking with the economy.
