Bratislava police spokesperson Alena Toševová told SITA that a Bratislava resident had pretended to be the convicted man, who had received a prison term for obstructing justice. But his false identity was discovered and he is now charged with falsifying and fraudulently altering public documents.

In a further twist, police investigating the offence also discovered that the stand-in had a prior conviction for illegal gun-possession for which he was due to serve prison time.
