“The commission has begun to evaluate the submitted bid,” said Jurikovič, adding that the process is expected to take two weeks.

PPP projects are intended to allow Slovakia to finance the construction of some 150 kilometres of road infrastructure, with expenditures reaching €4.17 billion. The Slovak government has divided the motorway sections to be constructed into three packages. The third package includes sections of the D1 motorway Hricovské Podhradie-Lietavská Lúčka, Lietavská Lúčka-Višňové, Višňové-Dubná Skala, and the motorway feeder Lietavská Lúčka-Žilina (all in Žilina Region).
