The MPs of the opposition SDKÚ, KDH and ethnic-Hungarian SMK parties walked out of parliament in protest on September 23 when Justice Minister Štefan Harabin was due to unveil his latest legislative proposals, the TASR newswire wrote.
The parties are protesting against remarks Harabin made earlier this month that were widely condemned as vulgar and anti-Semitic.
Despite the parties’ absence, Harabin presented a bill aimed at amending the Judicial Procedure Code to expedite proceedings and a bill to amend the Civil Code to grant lawyers and notaries the power to draft property-transfer contracts. TASR
