May 14 was the deadline given by the opposition for the prime minister to dismiss Štefanov. Failing this, the representatives of the opposition parties say they will deliver 30 signatures to Parliament and call for an extraordinary session to be convened devoted to a non-confidence vote in Štefanov. Janis stated to TASR that they plan to do so on Friday, May 15 at 12:30.

Fico's spokesperson Silvia Glendová confirmed to TASR that the PM doesn't intend to dismiss Štefanov. The opposition believes that the new minister is also responsible for the controversial bulletin-board tender which led to his predecessor’s sacking.

“We're certain that ministers like Štefanov have no place in a Slovak government, and I suppose that the prime minister, too, will manage to realise this soon,” said opposition Christian Democrat (KDH) party chairman Pavol Hrušovský. TASR
