Outgoing President Gašparovič pays a good-bye visit to the Czech Republic

SLOVAKIA’s President Ivan Gašparovič has left for his last-ever official bilateral visit as president. On May 27, he began a two-day visit to Prague at the invitation of his Czech counterpart, Miloš Zeman.

Gašparovič officially wraps up his term on June 15, when the president-elect Andrej Kiska will is inaugurated.

In Prague, Gašparovič attended an official ceremony at the castle of Prague, following which the two presidents and their wives held a private meeting.

Afterwards, a plenary meeting of the two delegations is planned. Defence Minister Martin Glváč is part of the Slovak delegation.
