SMK leader Pál Csáky has denied speaking of autonomy for southern Slovakia at an unofficial meeting with bishop and MEP László Tokes in Dunajská Streda on September 27.

SMK leader Pál Csáky has denied speaking of autonomy for southern Slovakia at an unofficial meeting with bishop and MEP László Tokes in Dunajská Streda on September 27.

The Sme daily wrote that the SMK leader spoke with Bishop Tokes, who is a renowned leader of Hungarian nationalists in Romania. Csáky allegedly showed Tokes his autonomy plan, which he worked on when was deputy prime minister.

Csáky has blamed Fico and his government for causing tensions in Slovak-Hungarian relations. He called on Fico to preserve the status quo in minority education and end alleged discrimination in southern Slovakia in financial aid for EU-funded projects. SITA
