Parliament again fails to elect deputy speaker

PARLIAMENT has again failed to fill the vacant seat of parliamentary deputy speaker. In another secret ballot Citizen's Alliance (ANO) MP Jirko Malchárek received just 63 votes from the 92 MPs present, while he needed 76 to be elected, reported Pravda daily.

The seat has been vacant since ANO chairman Pavol Rusko became the country's Economy Minister a year ago. Since then several secret ballots for the post have already taken place, with the ruling coalition being unable to agree on an acceptable candidate for the post.
