PARLIAMENT approved the nomination of current Deputy Finance Minister Vladimír Tvaroška, 34, as the new vice-governor of the central bank on March 16.
Of the 85 MPs present, 81 supported Tvaroška's election to the post, the TASR news agency reported.
Tvaroška replaces current vice-governor Elena Kohútiková, who reached the term limit the law allows for bank board members. Kohútiková was in charge of monetary policy, a brief she now turns over to Tvaroška.
