An amendment to the Social Insurance Act that has been under debate in parliament for more than a week and should come to a final vote today (Friday, August 10) is most likely to be the last item on the agenda of the present parliamentary session, the TASR newswire reported on Thursday, August 9.
"Our priority is to approve the 'social law'. Then we'll hold talks with the opposition on wrapping up this session and postpone the items that haven't been discussed until the September session," said head of the governing Smer party caucus Jana Laššáková. Opposition representatives have indicated that they will not block such a proposal.
