Parliament moves amendment on health insurers to second reading

Parliament voted on September 13 to move the highly disputed government draft amendment to the law on health insurance companies to the second reading.

If the amendment is approved in the proposed wording, it will lower the amount of funds collected from health insurance premiums that are spent on the insurance companies’ administrative costs.

The companies would continue keeping separate records for the income and costs of public health insurance and their own operations.
